- HUW EVANS OBE - Principal, Coleg Llandrillo Cymru
- I have been Principal of Coleg Llandrillo Cymru since 1989. Since that time I have seen the college develop to become one of the largest in Wales, attracting over 23,000 students to its various sites each year. We have five major sites which are located in Colwyn Bay, Rhyl, Abergele, Denbigh, St Asaph and a smaller venue in Llanrwst. Over the years I have worked extensively on the development of educational initiatives across Wales and the UK. This has included being the Chair of 'fforwm', a member of the UFI Board and a member of the FEFC(W)Board. I am currently a member of the Minister’s Advisory Group (MAG) for Education and Skills and I Chair the 14-19 Extended Executive panel. In 2002 I was awarded an OBE in the New Year’s Honours list for “Services to Further Education”.
